Who we are

Kanal Innovations Charitable Trust, founded by Anson P. D. Alexander in 2017 in Kollam district, is all about empowering children and marginalized communities through innovative projects and campaigns. We tackle critical issues like child marriage, mental health, child suicide, comprehensive sexuality education, quality education, and environmental restoration, helping children build confidence, self-awareness, and unlock their full potential. So far, Kanal has reached over 1,60,000 beneficiaries through various activities across Kerala, working closely with government bodies, educational institutions, and private organizations. Kanal also serves as an official knowledge and training partner, as well as an outreach program partner, for various colleges across Kerala and collaborates with key government departments, including the Women and Child Development Department, General Education Department, Social Justice Department, Kerala Police, and Kerala Forest Department, among others. Beyond this, we work with multiple district administrations to create lasting change. At Kanal, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream big!

What we do

Professionally an aircraft maintenance engineering graduate finds his real passion in social engineering as well. He completed his graduation in Political Sciences, Law, and Masters in Social Work specializing in counseling and community development and Masters in Psychology. To be a better leader, he completed certification in Life Coaching from The Transformation Academy, Florida, USA. Currently, Anson is a consultant for many policies and training module preparation teams for the Government of Kerala. He is also a trainer for gender sensitization in the Kerala Police Force.His self-directedness, passion, and commitment have ensured that Kanal's efforts have reached far and wide. Kanal as an organization has conducted several successful campaigns under his effective leadership. Many of their research have been published in national and regional newspapers. His activities have influenced the need for action against child marriages in Kerala and the importance of sexual education for young boys. Being motivated, skillful, and flexible has helped him address the challenges our children face in the current world. Moreover, he is also the state-level trainer for the Nirbhaya prevention campaign in Kerala.
